Anonymous asked: Also my grandma has dementia, and I can never focus on my studies because she's always yelling and going crazy, which has had an effect on my grades. And I can't leave her alone because my parents are at work, and ugh /i'm basicaly stuck,
I think you should go see a counselor first off. For your depression. Talking to someone will be so helpful. You’ll be able to let everything out and then they can help you go from there.
Second off, try going to your career center or academic counselor. They will help you decide what you should do. If you aren’t happy with bio, then don’t do it! that’s the beauty of college, you pick what you want to do and what makes you happy. Nursing is full of biology and science classes, so I might want to steer clear of that. Try taking some other classes and experiement with it all. You will end of finding something you love that makes you happy.
Third, I think you should talk to your parents about your grandma. If she is always yelling and you can’t get anything done that isn’t fair to you. You need time to study and find some sanity. There has to be a compromise that will work out for all of you.
And finally, take a deep breath. I know things seem like they’re falling apart now, but they really aren’t. I had to change my major half way through just last week and I felt lost and confused, but It’s better now! You just need to be optimistic and have faith that in the end it’ll all work out.
If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to message me. I know how it is to be so stressed and thinking that you’re failing at everything.
Hope this helps,
Court.
